Schooner Cove

Schooner Cove is an interactive early literacy learning center, for children ages birth to six, located at the Harford County Public Library in the Havre de Grace Branch. Schooner Cove was made possible through the generous support of the Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union, the Harford County Public Library Foundation, and private donations.

The experiences and activities in Schooner Cove are specifically designed for young children, ages birth to six, to nurture the development of critical early literacy skills through singing, talking, reading, writing and playing with their parents or caregiver Each of the seven areas in Schooner Cove, incorporate engaging interactives, reading materials and activities that promote the development of language and literacy. Little Lagoon (for infants), Schooner Cove Power Station, Fish Tale Beach, the Schooner, the Lighthouse, the Shipping Yard, the Ranger Station, and the Pond, are designed for play and learning while fostering the love of reading and exploration.
